Are there any recommendations for reasonably priced 'Excess insurance' when hiring a car in the UK?

Most only offer insurance to UK residents mate of mine used his sons uk address,
Coming off the M25 he had an accident
Long story short after a bit of checking up his insurance was cancelled as he was a resident of Cyprus
Cost him over five grand. So be careful

Used these last year. Yes have my Cyprus address. Quote for this year 69.50 UK GB Pound.
Have used them for 3 years in the past. Not needed to make a claim so can not provide any information on quality, ease etc.

This was recommended to me by one of the other volunteers in the charity shop a few years ago, as it turned out I didn’t need a car in the end so can’t personally vouch for them, but it looks like others can. You need to state normal country of residence when requesting a quote.

I used worldwideinsure for many years before lockdown and had a claim settled without any hassle. Used not only my Cyprus address but a Middle Eastern address before that, no problems.

I would recommend them any time.
