"Ready to send help" is not helpful. Other countries have already sent help.

But this was our first class opportunity to improve the relationship with Turkey by a prompt response. We blew it!

Bollocks. You cannot give aid to somebody who doesn't want it. Frankly I am sick of you trying to shit-stir in this manner.

Very good news if its true , im sure the poor victims stuck under the rabble do not care where the help comes from. Even if one life is saved it will be worth it.

Cyprus Airways have just offered their aircraft to help take volunteers, rescue equipment and supplies, including arranging charter flights there.

I agree with Dominic, there is a real humanitarian disaster in eastern Turkey and north Syria following the devastating earthquake. Turkey is reported as saying it with accept help from all Cyprus. It's right for Cypriot rescue teams to go there. It might even improve relations between the two and Turkey.

Looks as if a prominent politician has poured cold water on the idea of sending a rescue team. What a shame and a missed opportunity.
These elderly politicians seem negative, unable to look forwards...

Looks like Turkey doesn't want any more aid, as its trying to send the message, that it is well equiped do deal with the disaster by her self,
Watchihg the news on the tv, to me it looks like they need alot more aid teams to come and help these poor people, :(

How about Erdogan opens the border to Syria and lets aid get to the poor Syrians

Aid can go to Syria without the Turks permission. However, it seems that Cyprus speaks but does not move. :-( :-(

Stop talking rubbish, the relief agency's need Turkeys permission to cross over to Syria, something the turks have not agreed to, thus causing the poor syrians much hardship, as for Cyprus I respectfully suggest to read up on what is really happening, and not what you are pisting

There is now an update which says that Cyprus is still standing by to send a rescue team.
Sounds a touche confused.

Bashar Hafez al-Assad has asked for aid, independent of Turkey. It is not I who should stop talking rubbish.

Have Turkey refused aid to go across their border to syria, yes or no.
