We filmed this on January Saturday 14th, 2023. Paphos Harbour is being renovated, and restored to its former glory. The original stonework is now beginning to reapear, so we went down to film an update on our previous report.

Good idea to remove the plaster and get the old look back. Also to remove all the extensions of the buildings, perhaps without permit, will improve the whole area. Time will tell....

Thanks for this video, and I'll look forward to checking out the work soon, maybe on Wednesday with a trip to Coral Bay for a chore and the Duck Pond Market for produce and whatever else is on offer. I was at the harbour right up to the castle in late October/early November and wondered about those stand-alone shells that you say are going to become cafes and other commercial units based on seeing them in another area. They were a mystery to me at the time. I don't have a sense of the area before the old stonework is now being revealed and renovated, but I imagine it will make this area even more of a lovely place to visit. I hope there are plans to expand parking areas. The existing main one is great because of all the trees that provide shade, but it fills up on a busy day. We love your videos and efforts to let people know what is going on!

Certainly Progress has been made since your first video but one wonders if they can get it finished before tourist season begins ?, I do hope the outside seating areas are kept at the Pelican / Theos etc as it’s a lovely atmosphere in an evening. 8-)

Its nice to see the original stone buildings again, but problem seems that they look too small to house restaurants or reasonable shops. So inevitably something else must be built in front of the existing buildings for them. Time will tell what the Mayor has decided on to replace the previous constructions. He has had time to look around to see what other towns have done in to upgrade their harbour areas. I thought that Agia Napa has done this well.

I am still very sad that apparently nothing has yet been done to repair the walls of the Castle,
Which surely should be a priority - as yet.
