Why would it be connected to the wifi in the first place?

Not being technically minded, I haven't a clue, but it seems I need it for my bell to work properly.

I thought someone on PL might know.

To make full use of a Ring doorbell, you need a stable Wi-Fi connection. A Wi-Fi connection ensures that you can access the product’s features to their fullest extent. Fortunately, Ring doorbells are very to set up and install – hence why it is one of the most popular smart home devices on the market.

Copied from Google for your info.

Surely you just need to go through the same [rocedure as when it was installed?

Search and find the wi-fi signal, lock on, save?

Why not contact Ring support?

How to Reconnect Your Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera to Wifi or Change Your Wifi Network

To reconnect your Ring video doorbell or security camera to your wifi network in the Ring app, follow these steps:

Tap on the three lines (≡) on the top left of your Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Select the doorbell or security camera you need to reconnect to wifi.
The next screen should be the Device Dashboard.
Tap on Device Health.
Tap on Reconnect to Wifi or Change Wifi Network.
Note: Do not use the instructions above for Ring Alarm devices.

Remember that wifi passwords are case sensitive. If you don't know your wifi password, it might be printed on the bottom or side of your router.

Note: Once your device is reconnected to wifi, you can return to the Device Dashboard screen to check your wifi signal strength under Network.

If you have a continuous problem with your device disconnecting from wifi or a weak signal, try moving your router.
