Praise the Lord?, religion is the excuse they give to kill people.
Hasn't it always been this way, God is on our side?
Well it is Sunday,

I see Theresa May has just helped reduce her own threat level.
Not much hope for our Brexit negotiations if she's gone Weak and Wobbly already.

"Praise the Lord?, religion is the excuse they give to kill people."
Wrong! The reasons these morons give for their atrocities bear no resemblance whatsoever to any religion on earth, or in heaven for that matter.

Mrs May had said all along right from the beginning that she will not take part in tv debates. Everyone who had watched pm question time can be under no doubt that she is well able to represent her views and policies. By refusing she has shown that she is strong and will not be bullied into doing something that she disagrees with and why on earth she should do it just because it is done elsewhere in the world is beyond me.
I think that the tories should publish her punishing schedule this week aimed at working internally (COBRA) and externally (G7 etc) to improve security and defeat terrorism rather than promoting herself in the Election.

I would say without fear of any other comment that religion in any form has killed more human beings over the centuries, not being religious I have no proof of course on that, who has?
You believe what you will. For sure I hate these terrorist as much as everyone does, but this has nothing to do with the Holy Ghost or indeed Allahu Akbar.
Perhaps those who are not linked to religion will all go to hell.

On this occasion, Jim - I'm agreeing with you about the religion thing.
I have no religious leanings at all either, even though I was christened as a child. I say it's the root of all evil.

At least let her make her own reason why she disagrees in participating without you becoming her apologist.
Regarding her work load, remind me, who called the election? If you can't stand the heat.....................!

She has already given her reasons and I was referring to the additional workload since the recent atrocities as you well know. I am no ones apologist I just believe in saying things as they are.

"I would say without fear of any other comment that religion in any form has killed more human beings over the centuries, not being religious I have no proof of course on that, who has? "
You have no proof, yet make a statement like that, what is the point? You clearly know nothing.
Religion itself never killed anyone, and that is still true today. Its the perverted use of religion by fanatics throughout history that has killed people, and is still killing people today. I repeat, ISIS and any other fanatical organisation have no connection whatsoever with religion.
Please get your facts right and present proof of your assertion rather than make pointless statements.

Whilst religion itself may not have killed more human beings. Killings were carried out 'in the name' of religion which to my mind is just as bad. So whether it is the religion, or the religious fanatics that have to be confronted is, to a large extent irrelevant. If the religion wants to separate itself from the fanatics it should be more vocal and ACTIVE in acting against them.
I think you are being too pedantic!

"Killings were carried out 'in the name' of religion which to my mind is just as bad."
Why?
There is a massive difference between religion, and "in the name of religion" any idiot on the face of the earth can carry out atrocities "in the name of religion" but this has no connection whatsoever to religion itself. No genuine religion I know of preaches anything but love and care, so how on earth can any atrocity carried out "in the name of religion" bear any resemblance whatsoever to religion??
Pedantic I'm not. I think you need to understand an awful lot more of what true religion means before you begin to compare any assault or affront carried out "in the name of religion"
Any lunatic can carry out any atrocity 'in the name of religion'. But it bears no resemblance whatsoever to any actual religion, so it's totally impossible to say that it is just as bad. It may be in your opinion, but that simply reflects your lack of knowledge about religion.
As far as Islam itself is concerned I have long , long , long posted that it needs to be more proactive in not only disassociating itself from the terrorists, but also being far more knowledgeable about what their children are doing and I still believe this. There is nowhere near enough being done in the Muslim community to not only prevent radicalisation of its youth but to preach the dangers of radicalisation and terrorist groups
So far from me being pedantic, I think you need to research the true meaning of religion.

I went to Meadowhall shopping centre today
It was very quiet and saw quite a few armed
Police around. A shop assistant informed me
That it had been unusually quiet since Tuesday
But then again the weather has been scorching
Hot so maybe that's the reason why
Whoever becomes the next prime minister is really going to be up against it in regards
To these terror attacks but If the next prime minister is Jeremy corbyn the the man who even today refuses to condemn the actions of the IRA
Then I don't know how many more extremists will be shouting " allahu akbar"
But I do believe in a couple of years time we will all be saying " O MY GOD "

Totally agree Jacs, the people who belong to the religion which is being used as an excuse to maim and kill innocent people, should be rooting them out and informing the police. It's one thing to parade around the streets proclaiming their support of the victims, it's quite another to see some positive action from them, it's high time we did.
