So who's next?

1. Bring Back Boris - well he does have a mandate.
2. Rishi Sunak - can't be any worse than Truss, and predicted what her policies would do.
3. Another leadership campaign - not what the UK wants.
4. General Election - political suicide for Tory Party.

Apparantly Truss will get £18,860 in severance pay that’s £419,11 for each day she was in office, also she is entitled to claim up £115,000 a year in allowances for life, as are all ex PMs, plus she will get the usual ultra good member of parliament pension, not a bad job if you can land it.

As a non-Tory supporter, I would say let Rishi have it - he told her it wasn't going to work but Liz allowed herself to be convinced otherwise.

The party members may want Boris but can't see why the MPs would - considering there's still an inquiry running on the lie after lie that he told whilst in office and we could end up in this same mess again in the not too distant future.
How quickly some people forget. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... gate-covid

I wish she would have announced a Gen Election, but personally - if there's any chance that one of the toads can get the UK out of the current mess as swiftly as possible, I will take it - but never the pantomime horse that Boris Johnson has already proven he is.

Say what you will about Boris, he delivered Brexit, i.e. carried out the will of the majority of voters, when two other PMs failed to do so. He also delivered the vaccine roll out better than many other world leaders.

Yes, he lied about party gate, so did Starmer, he just got away with it. Politician and truth are a contradiction in terms, nothing to choose between any of them on that score.

When you take into account the people who desperately need money to live, even just a reasonable wage, this amount of money is obscene.

I wonder if Labour got in, would they stop these payments. We might see, sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath. ;)

Boris delivered his "idea" of Brexit - but the whole thing is a total mess.
We still have empty shelves in the supermarkets and containers backed up at the ports - remember, we were told there would be no hurdles and no extra paperwork.
Lies!

Don't get me started on the NHS red bus message!
Yes, another LIE

And please, don't ever forget this image - keep it in your head and REMEMBER how Boris Johnson and his cronies PARTIED the evening before, when his own Lockdown Rules prohibited gatherings of any kind:

The millions we no longer send to the EU must be somewhere.

In the UK we will All receive £66/£67 per month towards our energy costs, for six months, and those who qualify for WFA will receive £500/£600 in December. The disabled received an extra £150 last month. All from Boris's Government. I bet there aren't any Labour supporters who refused to accept it.

Starmer also partied, the only difference was the type of alcohol consumed!

No, the timeline was different too. Starmer was cleared. Boris wasn't.

In the grand scale of things, who honestly cares? But facts are facts.

Let me guess: despite your question regarding the millions misspent to support the failure of the UK government, you, personally, support the band of miscreants that have brought the country to ruin. Looking back to the end of the war in 1945, I can think of only one leader who was not in office to feather his own nest, Clement Attlee, the man who brought a penniless state from a Victorian mindset to a modern country with the National Health Service and National Insurance. He literally almost killed himself with personal health issues so that you, yes you, can get medical help and a pension when you need them, even today, 80-odd years later.

He even helped Bojo enjoy a Caribbean holiday while the country suffered from the results of misspending of public funds.

Photolady I must take issue with your empty shelves remark. There are no empty shelves in our supermarkets here in the North East and I can personally obtain all the goods I require. I regularly visit Morrisons , Aldo, Lidl, M&S and Herons and perceive no problems at all other than price increases but that is similar all over the World as you well know and nothing at all to do with Brexit.

Quite so, I have no problems buying my normal weekly shopping in Hereford.

You agree with me then, that they are all tarred with the same brush, whatever party governs.

My pension has been paid for by myself, yes me, and my husband, it is not a free hand out, likewise my medical treatment. At seventy five, I am still paying income tax, and of course, most things that I buy are taxable too.

The NHS is abused greatly, you only have to ask anyone who works in it. Give a hospital trust more money to improve it, and they will appoint more managers and admin staff, instead of doctors and nurses. That happened a couple of years ago in Worcestershire.

I never said that the benefits you obtain were free of charge. Of course you pay for them but the advantage that it's the same treatment for everybody at the same price for everybody, at least in theory. The problem arises largely from Westminster and the way that our elected persons (always without specialist knowledge) try to steer it, blindly.

Politicians should be abolished, worldwide. They cause a lot of harm.

As far as the NHS is concerned, the worst thing that happened to it was to get rid of Matron! The hospital ran like clockwork and woe betide anyone who crossed her. One woman managed alone.

If we abolish politicians, would we then be governed by Charles?
