They already have caused havoc to the environment - as regularily reported in the newspapers.

Probably some property developer putting the gossip out in order to get the land dug over and flattened by some very cheap (free) labour
Don't all go running to the hills to help him out now....

I recall scrabbling around several years ago by the old chrome mines for some decent sized pieces where they used to churn it into the trucks at the bottom of the pulley system. We did quite well with that on eBay

The good old days when I worked shifts and made the very most of the time I had off in between them. Fun times!

The last time I heard about gold prospecting here there were helicopters scanning the land around us for days.
