I heard it was close to Evangelismos Hospital where UK Foods used to be, but cannot confirm Lloyd.

Yes it's next to the new beauty shop. On your right if you are coming off the main road (Evangelismos would be on your left) and on your left, through the traffic lights if you are passing with Evangelismos on your right.

I adore their fruit gateau.

Morello's new bakery seems to be where previous posts have said, by U Kay's old shop. There was a notice in the window a few weeks ago that said Morello's opening soon. There are some counters in there but not much activity at the moment. Watch this space.

Have you tried Constantinides Bakery, Trev and Lloyd? Their main outlet is in Geroskipou, on the old main road on the right (heading from Debs to PFO). This is where Pericles buys his bread fresh every morning for his Taverna up in Nata,

They also have a branch in the Limnaria centre opposite the ATG hotel, which I used to frequent daily for their delicious filled rolls and pies (excellent value, too). Not sure whether they do fruit gateaux, but worth popping in to have a look!

Cheers- AL :)

Very sorry to hear that, Lloyd... The 'other one' as I said, was dead oppposite the ATG (on the other side of the main coastal drag, in a corner shop of Limnaria Centre, with easy parking outside). So WHAT has happened to THAT outlet, I wonder? Also Paps Bakery, maybe?

Simplest solution is for someone to nip up to Pericles Taverna (Nata) one lunchtime Tues to Sat, enjoy a nice cold beer and his 'mini meze' of bread, butter, dips 'n olives, then just ask him WHERE he buys his fresh bread from these days? But you might need to have a Greek interpreter with you, as Peri speaks about the same amount of English as I do Greek...

That info SHOULD lead you to a quality bakery in Paphos, I believe...

Cheers- AL ;)

Not sure if it is Morello's but what appears to be an up market bakery/patisserie has just opened on the small side street opposite the government offices. Virtually directly opposite the tax office. About 4 shops up from the main road on the right hand side.

Varky, I thought that one is a different (German) bakery.

PM me please, too, please, Lifesabeach. Promise to keep it private, honest! Used to love the Constantinides opposite ATG every afternoon on my return from Riccos Beach, in order to grab my late evening supper after a few more Carlsbergs @ Alexanders or Wheatsheaf...

Cheers- AL :)

Could well be. I did infer that I wasn't sure. Maybe it's worth a try?
