Having Photovoltaic Panels

Hi Guys

A relative of ours is thinking of investing in a number of photovoltaic panels installed on their roof , which I guess is a good idea , however the people advised their system feeds power back to the grid , and there billing would drop to around 30 to 40 Euro per bill for the meter .

My question , on our bills we are always charged a large amount for the EU Fine Cyprus has to pay . In this instance would they have this fine imposed on their bill , which is a large sum .

Secondly has anyone got good or bad experience’s in this system

Thanks

Les

As soon as you have installed a so called net-metering photovoltaic system at your premises and produce more electricity in the 2 month period than using, you have a different, very low basic price ( at the moment ca 3 cent per kWh) In this case you don't have to pay: fuel adjustment, greenhouse gas emission costs, RES and ES funds. However if your consumption is more than you produce you have to pay the difference. If you produce more than you consume you will get a credit of the units you produced which will add up in the following month to come.

With prices for electricity now and in the future there is no question of installing such a system or not. It is getting more and more economical by the month, beside the fact you do something for the environment, avoiding CO2 emissions.
