Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel Update 2

Last year we reported on the Crown Resort Horizon Hotel in Coral Bay. It was looking worse for wear, but puzzlingly was still being offered to holiday makers on booking sites. We went back in the Spring of this year just to confirm that the place was closed. That, we thought, was that. However, there have recently been signs of life at the Crown Resort, so we popped down to see what was happening.
While we were there, we also had a quick look at the nearby Thalassa Hotel. Both are a stark contrast to the Coral Beach Hotel, which still looks magnificent.

The Thalassa started life as a ‘Adults Only” it’s a shame it’s no longer is use as it’s has great views but from memory not much outside space, the configuration in the bedrooms/suites was rather strange as it has had 2 doors of entry. Hopefully it will be welcoming guests through its door next season
Hopefully Crown Resorts will also be opened for business next season as it was an extremely popular hotel in the past
Thank you Dominic for the updates

Coincidentally, I saw an article yesterday saying that the hotel was being re-furbished to house Migrants.

The only reference I have seen recently is this topic on a local Facebook page:
'Hi .... At the weekend I saw activity at the Crown Horizon Hotel in Coral Bay. The gardens were finally being cleared. I heard today that the hotel will be used for Asylum seekers to be housed. Has anyone heard any news re the hotel ?
No one was able to substantiate this claim in the comments section.
Edited the first sentence to remove 'on 30' (it was originally 'seen on 30 recently') as it didn't make sense!

Putting asylum seekers on the main tourist strip of Coral Bay would be commercial suicide.

Not for the owners of the hotel it wouldn't. Very lucrative.
My neighbours are asylum seekers from Syria. They seem decent folks. The Africans that have moved into our village seem polite and don't cause any trouble. Quite a few of them have jobs now in Paps, Garden of Eden etc.
I look at it that many of the Africans that have reached Cyprus are just following Norman Tebbit's advice and got on their bike to find work, safety and a better life. The problem isn't the people, it's the quantity, and the issues around the green line.
As climate change further develops, we can expect more and more people from the tropical areas to migrate northwards. We need to get used to the idea.
Finally what is the difference between a Ukrainian coming to Cyprus to escape war, and an African doing the same thing?
