I seem to remember this happening a few years back.. But it was said then that bars without music near one with it, were complaining because they were jealous of the bars with entertainment getting more custom.

Was listening to the mayor talking about this problem today on the radio, he is not messing about, he has a team ready to go and strip restaurants of their outside seating and chairs speakers etc, make this guy president in my opinion.

from his facebook page

The Municipality of Paphos announces that within the framework of the exercise of its legal powers it proceeded today, following a unanimous decision - without a vote - of the City Council at a session of the day. 14.7.2022, in the notice, to all subordinate owners within the Mayor's area, who use public and/or private patio space for placing table seating and/or conducting music events and emitting sound, with or without provision of relative permission, causing nuisance and disturbance to residential units within the radius several kilometers, by which alerts are called in immediate compliance with the legislation.
It is emphasized that, in case of non-direct compliance of the properties - as per law of responsible persons - the Municipality will take drastic measures without further warning to restore the legality of non-exclusive confiscation of equipment and/or penalty shootout. In such a case, for any damage, loss or damage caused, the owners of the substitutes will be borne direct responsibility and not the Municipality of Paphos since they do not comply with the law at their own responsibility.
