Two questions re the road work on Polis Road. I see that the top gateway into or out of Lidl seems to be open now. Are you able to go 'into' the top gateway ??

Question two concerns the other end of the road works and beyond. At the moment the roadworks stop a good few hundred yards from the traffic lights at Papantonios. Eventually, the works will get down to the traffic lights as there is to be a roundabout there I believe.
Does anyone know what provision has been made for getting into and out of the Papantonios supermarket ??

Trev, Concerning your 1st question.Yes, the 'top ' entrance to Lidl is in use, both in and out. Though I noticed that even with a wider entrance, some motorists seem to be unable or reluctant to keep to the left sides when they are using it. This leads to a hold up, when the 2 motorists now facing each other in their cars cause a hold up in the traffic flow..

No information on your 2nd question yet. I may find out poss Monday when I see my contact. But he mentioned that the company involved in the Ellados Ave works sometimes makes his own decisions sometimes seemingly over night. But I think it may be a similar arrangement to access like that at 'Garden of Eden'. It may also depend on what is happening on that side road by Paps, currently under construction.

Thanks for all the info Dee, I thought it looked as though the top gateway for Lidl was now in and out. You have confirmed this and alerted us to possible problems.
I have not seen the side road by Paps but that may well be what it is for, ie another entrance

As I don't go up the Polis road a lot I have another question ?, If coming from the Pap,s traffic lights can I get outside Kolios Butchers and Deli to collect my Wine.

I have been up from Pap,s but could not remember if you got to Kolios before you had to turn right but obviously not, Thanks will be easier coming down from Shipshape end.

I have been downhill through all the roadworks this afternoon. When you get to Kolois Butchers on the right there is a purpose-made opening on the right , that gives access the car park adjacent to their shop

you can get to Kolios. If coming from town, turn right at Pap's traffic lights. Take next T left, past the site of the former Post Office.Continue up this road, towards Evangelismos.
Just before reaching hospital there, turn left, before kiosk. At end of this street, turn Left again. You are now going down the Polis Rd, towards Kolios.

I drove down Ellados Ave from the traffic lights, even greater work going on! Yes, the embryo roundabout near Lidls is dug up, and you go around where it was on the opp side. Excavation going on now on both sides of the new road. But the exit from Lidls up the steep ramp is wider now. But as you reach the new road be careful, as traffic along this stretch of the project is 2-way, with only a line of cones separating vehicles.It was very busy when I emerged - with lunchtime traffic.
