I don't think the UK is trying to blame the EU for the increase in energy prices. Although the increase is from 1 April people will not see vast increases immediately as weather warmer and most of us have now got heating off for most of the time. Many of us had the winter fuel allowance, we are receiving an additional £150 this month and £ 200 in the Autumn( call it a loan if you want but to me it is helpful) I have fixed my fuel price for a year so the anticipated Autumn increase will not affect me. Everyone expects the UK to be a nanny state now instead of people trying to help themselves. On the news today there was talk about how people were going to manage and then the very next topic was the thousands who were caught in airport chaos as so many were flying abroad!!
We are pensioners living on the old style pensions plus a small private pension and we manage pretty well
