I seem to recall that Goldsmith is a translation of Chrysochou.

I learned that when I did my blog on the village. :)

And Monster is a translation of Tera.

I have not done a blog on Tera yet. Perhaps I should after I finish with Choulou?

I can't see Chloraka, Lemba and Emba either. The original plan was for them to be part of Peyia Municipality, so I assume they are staying as they are with their own Community Councils.

Time will tell. Though the 4 are all close together. Maybe they wouldn't agree to losing their individual autonomy as separate councils..

Am I alone in thinking the current system works very well, for little cost.

I feel that staffing, administrative costs etc will all soar now.

The Muchtaries (should I say presidents) look after their villages or local areas, know the residents and react to their needs, and in my view provide a service that is second to none!

The villages being integrated into larger areas may well suffer as a result.

This could be a step in the wrong direction.

Having telephoned and sent several emails to Peyia Municipaliy for a simple query since December and being completely ignored with no acknowledgement whatsoever, it fills me with horror at the thought of giving power over a wider area to that administration. A change of staff would go a long way to improving the service and respect for customers.
