As of 21st February 2022, the new Action Plan for the smooth operation of flights and the operation of airports enters into force, following a decision of the Council of Ministers. For the transitional period from 21st to 28th February 2022, all passengers arriving at Larnaka and Paphos Airports will be required to undergo a PCR laboratory test upon arrival, and the cost shall be borne by themselves.

Smooth operation of flights !!!!! Whoever wrote that headline obviously hadn't bothered checking with the authorities at Paphos airport.
My daughter had the misfortune to arrive on the flight from Manchester last night (20th)when it appeared all the rules of entry had already changed. In spite of being triple jabbed, having a fitness to fly certificate from Prenetics (she had taken an LTF in the morning) she had to have another LTF as well as the normal PCR test. This created the usual chaos as they were trying to control everybody in a totally unsuitable, unventilated space. Disabled people and priority dis-embarkers who left the plane first ended up at the back of the queue for the LTF, with the whole fiasco adding at least an additional hour to the process.
Makes my laugh about all the articles about support for hotels and tour guides, etc, the authorities here are bit by bit dismantling their most important revenue source. Given the mood in the airport last night most of the first time visitors to Cyprus won't be coming back !!

I come through Paphos airport numerous times in a year the latest being last week, upon arrival we were bused from the aircraft to the old airport terminal were a PCR test was done (19 Euro), then taken by bus to the new terminal arrivals.
The whole process took around 20 mins from landing to me being in the car park collecting my car.

It was a Saturday afternoon and to be honest was not very busy but all the same quite organized and efficient. test results were texted to me just over 2 hours later.

One thing on that trip i noted was that when leaving Leeds Bradford in the morning i had already checked in online and had no bags so just needed to show my paperwork at the gate, the girl asked me if i had all the required paperwork i said yes and she let me board, never checked a thing. 8-)

This is a bit off-topic but Paphos Airport needs to do something about those outdoor holding pens. All too often, passengers are forced to stand in them for long periods of time and they're especially unpleasant in summer and winter. There are no toilets, barely any seating and there are never any staff to enforce queuing or look after passengers. They also give the feeling of being incarcerated. I don't see why Paphos can't have proper waiting areas like other airports. It would be one thing if you were only there for five minutes, but it's frequently much longer.

OK, rant over! ;)

The new regulations only took effect from flights leaving the destination AFTER 10.00am. Had a friend flying back from the UK this morning and after checking with the Flight pass helpline, he was told that no test was required. He had an issue with the flight pass not letting get past the flight entry stage as it was asking for a valid test. Called the help line again and said a test was needed because of the departure time.

Why on earth they choose 10am instead of simplifying it from Midnight is beyond me!

Will you get the test result texted even if you don't have a Cypriot SIM card?
