This is typical of the information on weather. These are verbatim consecutive headlines on a local website. The Met office needs to make up its mind whether we're going to have reasonable seasonal weather or severe weather. In fact, the local showers and isolated thunderstorms are much more likely than really severe weather justifying a yellow warning. However, the Met office is playing it safe by offering alternatives for the immediate forecast, even though they lose credibility by so doing.

It would indicate that they detected that the outlook was going to be worse than they expected, so they adjusted their report accordingly.
This is not complicated. You should just pay attention to the most recent forecast, and then you will be fine.

Sorry, although the two forecasts were separated by one hour, they were published on the newspaper website simultaneously, which allowed me to show them side-by-side. So, which one was correct? Actually, the true answer is neither but the one with the umbrellas was closer to the truth, except for the question of wind speed. As an amateur meteorologist with three weather stations, and knowing the vagaries of the Cyprus weather and its regionality, I am fully aware that the official weather forecasts leave a lot to be desired. My guess is that there are at least five amateurs, like myself, who are able to provide better forecasts, based on their local measurements, than the official ones. What is more irksome are the "forecasts" provided by a handful of mostly American websites pretending to provide predictions to each village, by name.

The Yellow Warning for severe weather article was 100% correct. A yellow warning had been issued for severe weather.

The Yellow weather warning article was originally posted on Tuesday mid-afternoon and the general weather
forecast was posted by them on Wednesday morning. Just a coincidence that they were after each other.
Although it looks like they were posted on the same day - In-Cyprus probably reposted the Yellow warning.
As mentioned previously the yellow rainfall warning simply indicates that you should:
"Be aware of the potential for localised flooding of a small number of properties, with local disruption to
outdoor activities. Difficult driving conditions due to reduced visibility and aquaplaning."
That seems perfectly reasonable advice to be fair.
