Two men made an escape from the Paphos central station holding cells and police have issued an appeal for information leading to their whereabouts, releasing photos of the suspects.
Alexandros Sarkisides, 28 and Ernali Kozmiov, 34, escaped some time in the evening and authorities discovered they were missing during a routine check this morning.
Anyone that can provide assistance, are encouraged to contact the Paphos CID at 26806021, the nearest police station or the citizen’s line at 1460.
They can also submit information electronically through the ‘Crime Information’ category on the application and website of Cyprus police.

It is almost unbelievable. Firstly that they could escape, and secondly that they did this last night and that they were only found missing this morning.

Incredible that this could happen…. did someone forget to lock the cell/s door/s? I did read that a number of policemen had recently been commended for their exceptional service. But it said that they had all been assigned to ‘front line’ units elsewhere. None were being posted to Paphos. Maybe the police should rethink this policy as Paphos seems to need someone keen who could improve the way things are run here in Paphos…

I see now that some officers have been suspended. But the escapees are still at large

You know, Maggie, that being a brat is part of my nature – always has been, always will be! About eight decades ago, I was sitting in a classroom, bored to tears, being instructed in Russian by a Madame Semeonoff (sic!), learning that brat was the Russian word for brother!

Didn't something similiar to this happen a few weeks ago at the same Police station?
I hear Zorbas branches in Paphos are doing a good trade in cakes with files in them..
