can anybody recommend a shop that sells good quality earrings (€400 upward) that's not trying to fleece tourists.

Go to any good quality jeweler, they should be registered with the Cyprus Assay office, ask to see their certificate, what that means is every piece of jewelry in their store has been through the Assay office who grade and stamp the jewelry with a Hallmark for quality.

We’ve used Kula at Era Jewellery along the Paphos Sea Front several times in the past, very helpful and we didn’t feel like we were being ripped off.
