White Medical Card

Received in the post yesterday our White Medical card. Had not applied for it and was sent well in advance of the expiry date of our old one.
Dated April 2022 to April 2027. Well done Cyprus.!

Got me wondering what they are now used for? Both in Gesy.

Also if you don't have one. How do you apply for one? Where to go and what documentation do you need? Asking for a friend.

Many thanks in advance of any information.

Sue

I think that your first port of call could be the Citizens Advice Centre. I went there when I discovered that my White Medical card had expired, they organised it's renewal. I was asked for it any time I went to the Gen Hospital. Before the pandemic started, I used to attend the Flu Clinic there annually for my flu jab. They always asked for it. Also if attending A&E they may also ask for it.

I have never been asked for it in ages despite having 3 Covid jabs there and seeing two different consultants a few times a year..

They don´t seem to be connected to GESY. I´, not in GESY and never applied for a medical card but was sent one anyway. Not sure what to do with it.
