Now the pay to throw scheme has been passed in parliament, how might it work for the thousands of us that use the green Euro bins?

It is a good thing in my book, it we encourage people to recycle, if you sort out the recycling items, then you are not left with much, to pay to throw away.

I agree , however where I live there are NO recycling facilities

The nearest recycling bins to us are 20 minutes drive away in Polis, when our recycling bags etc are full we put them in the car and take them there, we try and do it when and if we need to go to Polis anyway. Alternatively if we need to go into Paphos we will go to Tremithousa on the way and visit the recycling bins there

Where are the recycling bins in Tremithousa ??

Turn right at Ollie's bar, about 25 Metres on the left

Might be a problem if you have a big family, for us we have one black bin bag for paper and another one for plastics and tins , dosnt take much space collected once a week.

Lots of places in Polemi have shared bins.

I must have missed this along the way, so what are the rules for this.
Is it just a matter of sorting recycables and do you have to pay to enter the green points?

I can't speak for other people just myself, however if someone lives in a tiny apartment I could understand their predicament.

I’ve been having a look at the Green Dot website https://greendot.com.cy/en/& it has been updated since I last looked & now has lot of useful information.

Just because an item has a recycling symbol on it doesn’t necessarily mean that it can be recycled in Cyprus & the Green Dot trademark on a packaging is simply an indication that the company which imports or packages the product in Cyprus is a member of a Collective System such as Green Dot Cyprus and contributes financially for the recycling of the packaging of the product. This logo does not declare if a packaging can be recycled or not.

It’s a long read but we find the following information taken from it very useful.

The code which is present on bottles, containers and the like is usually hidden in small numbers at the bottom of the items.
Items are marked from 1 to 7: Number 1 is the easiest to recycle, number 7 usually impossible, and polystyrene, as in plastic cups is number 6.
Green Dot accepts numbers 1, 2, 4 and 5
