Love Indian food.

Unfortunately, I only seem able to buy the finger size “60 to a pack” variety at local supermarkets.
Back in the day, there was a lady from Polis called Jo, who ran a “pie” operation, delivering to several points in Paphos, and which included “ man size” Samosa.

Does anyone know where a more authentic Samosa can be had?

Try the Indian shop just up from the mall, opposite sun tower. It’s called Urban India. They have a great selection of foodstuffs.

Jo still makes all sorts of lovely and naughty things. Search for “Jo’s Pies” on Facebook. Her daughter cleans for us and she, and her mother, are always open to suggestions. Looking at her offerings, I see she sells vegetable samosa for €2,50.

It took us 8 years before we found something close to the Westernised Indian food we were used to when we lived in Cyprus.
Sadly, it was very short-lived due to business jealousy and sabotage of their restaurant in Limassol causing a knock on effect on the takeaway just a few short kilometres from our home. The owner gave up and closed both places in the end.
We had already tried a number of places in Limassol, Akrotiri and Paphos.
The best we found just a few months before we left Cyprus in 2016 was a restaurant on Bar Street.
Now we're back in UK, there's no shortages of our Indian fix plus, we were very good customers in our local town before we left UK and after a couple of contacts with them after the loss of the Limassol based places, the chef in Heywood sent us the recipe for our favourite sauce base - hubby now continues to make all of our Friday night curries from scratch with fresh ingredients.
Just need to get a recipe for shami kebabs now and we're really on a roll

I had the same problem trying to find a decent Onion Bhajis..so in desperation I decided to try making them myself and they fantastic! Next on the list Meat Samosas.

It's the Peyia village market this Sunday and Jo normally has
a table there with her goodies. I've bought samosas & Onion Bhajis
from her before ( yummy yummy ) along with many other things to eat.

You can buy them from the Curry House by the Post Office in Kato Paphos.

I find with OBs and samosas that they don't keep very well, they go soggy after being in a fridge, always better to eat straight after deep frying.
Try to make your own is the best way, also 2.50 is what you pay at an Indian restaurant as you usually get 2 for around a fiver

The one Indian favourite you cannot get is Bombay Duck...does anyone remember having them?

Wasn't it a type of fish?

It certainly was a dried fish..very salty.
