Paphos Life

Theletra is a village in the heart of the district of Paphos, Cyprus. It is perched on top of a steep hill, between Kathikas and the B7. It used to lie below the hill, but the villagers were relocated due to fears of landslides. So there are now two Theletras.

The old Theletra still has a couple of inhabitants, and a church, but it has mostly reverted to nature. It remains a fascinating place to explore, and you can find out more in our articles here:

Yes,been through " old " Theletra many times,very interesting indeed.There is a stone on a wall that says ER 1953 i suppose that was during the British occupancy.

Yes. It indicates the water tap or taps were provided by the British during a project to install running water to all villages. Most villages have a similar feature somewhere in their boundary with the same date.
