From The Red Pool To Polis

The Red Pool is one of our favourite spots in Cyprus. Formed as a result of copper and other metal mining, the waters have been turned a deep amber-red from all the chemicals in the soil. Certainly it is not a place for you to go fishing, or to attempt a swim. But on a calm, peaceful day, you can take some beautiful pictures of the lake and its reflections. And if you get bored of that, walk over to the other side of the road and enjoy the scenery.
The road from Kinousa down to the Coast Road is quite winding, and gives you some great views, especially of Limni Mine.
