As alcohol is so cheap here, it must mean that we really don't need to binge drink and are generally happy with just a couple of beers or a glass of wine. Maybe zivania is used mainly for bruises! A good Commandaria is far too sweet to be able to binge it!

Maybe, but they have been closed or restricted everywhere surely.

That is what I enjoy so much about the Southern Mediterranean countries - 'the coffee culture' and the way families do so much together.

I don't think it's anything to do with bars been closed it's simply Cypriots don't tend to drink to destruction like some. Most of our cypriot friends like a drink but in moderation.

Maybe true in a broad sense, but wonder who the irresponsible motorists are who get done for overdoing the drink and or drugs are?
