We had a peculiar event today. The temperature rose steadily up to 38.7° C at 12:15 and then started to drop for about an hour or so to slowly rise again but not back up to a higher temperature. This was the result of a small weather front which pushed the humidity up by nearly 10% and changed the wind direction by about 60°. As a result, we never reached the dreaded 40° C mark. This is not to say that the official temperature was lower than anticipated but I think their 42° C forecast was unlikely to have been fulfilled but I make the reserve that the sudden weather front was of unknown magnitude of temperature, duration or wind direction which they must have used for their forecast.
