No doubt people will have different ideas but what’s the best temperature to set an air con at for a comfortable night’s sleep?

Humidity setting for us seems to be ok, the temp self regulates.....

I think most aircon companies recommend 27c.

When we updated ours last October, the engineer set it at 27c

Wow! That’s low. It must run for ages by the time the thermostat registers that temperature in the room and shuts down?

We’ve finally had some fitted only a couple of weeks ago and the engineer was adamant no need to go below 23 and 25 / 26 if run for extended periods in the bedroom. We are finding 15 mins or so at night is enough to cool the room down.

I was always told that since Aircon is also a dehumidifier you should not run it whilst you are asleep or it will dehumidify you.

We don't use the bedroom one at night, preferring to leave the ceiling fan on and the patio door / windows open.. But I put the lounge one on at lunchtime and I have that set at 26. When the temperature outside gets down to around 27/28 then I will turn it off and open all the doors for some through draught

Doesn’t that depend on whether you have it on Cool or Dry mode?

If it's a particularly hot day, I'll put mine on for an hour in the evening at 23 degrees to suck the day's heat out of the place. I turn it off before going to bed. I don't like being too dependent on it. Aircon makes life much harder when you get outside!

In this weather, I set the daytime temperature to 30° C (max). At night, we set the bedroom at 26° C on the very slowest speed for about an hour or so before going to bed, then we switch off. We are thus very comfortable in our little hut. If the temperature outside drops to 32 or 33°, we reduce the aircon by 1° C for each degree in the room to 29 – 28 – rarely 27°

Personally hate the feeling of aircon, but we leave it on all night and missus pulls a sheet round herself to keep warm!

Have bedroom one on at 26c, if I wake in middle of the night, I turn it off and leave the ceiling fan on.

I'm not a fan of aircon (yes, I know). However, we have had it on all night over the last couple of nights, set at 28.

I´ve watched this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQWZOp91ma0&t=106s because the youtuber is reporting her banalities from my home region. I got interested though when she mentioned (at 4:38) that in their new house they have a cooling system which isn´t an aircon. I wonder what she may have meant. Maybe a heat pump connected to some kind of underfloor water heating which is working in reverse mode during summer and thereby having cold water flowing in walls and ceilings? Any ideas what else she could have meant?
