While visiting the east of the island for a break, we happened upon this charming chapel. just as they were getting ready for a christening. As it was located near the site of the near marina, I thought it would be nice to get some photos of the area for posterity. We also found that the chapel had a surprise in store for us...

Just a little clarification, there are several places called Ayia Thekla, so the may be some confusion getting there. The oldest one is in this village, Mosfiloti, and was founded by St Helena nearly 2000 years ago (give or take a century or two!). Here she performed a miracle and a mud bath resulted; this said bath is reputed for curing all diseases of the leg. It is an active residential nunnery, who are very welcoming. One tip: do not try to take photos in the interior of the chapel.
