Try getting a can of Carbontetrachloride from nicolaou electronics.
I have used this stuff before for electrical switches.

Carbon tetrachloride is highly toxic and suspected of causing lung cancer due to its volatility. It is illegal to sell it retail in the European Union. In fact, all the chlorinated organic solvents are on the no-no list. If you disconnect the wires from the switch, the best cleaning method is with water to which you add a couple of drops of dishwashing detergent, followed by a good rinse in deionised/demineralised water. Make sure that it's thoroughly dry before reinstalling.

Thanks for the replies, It is for a guitar amplifier, when you turn some of the knobs I'm getting a lot of crackling. I used to solve this by spraying switch cleaner in and around said area. I haven't seen it here.

A potentiometer is not the same as a switch and is more subject to wear and tear as the wiper tries to make contact with the resistive part. If cleaning is insufficient, you may have to replace them but check here that you have the right value of resistance.
