It would be interesting to see missile boats and Warships shuttled to Nicosia being somewhat land locked!
Equally they probably would create a bit of interest if docked at Limassol between any visiting cruise ships...
Cyprus usually has periodic exercises held in Cyprus with the Israelis in the summer/autumn,
This one seems to involve all 3+services. I hope they will publicise when this month long exercise will be. Several years ago I was leading a Paphos walking group on a walk from Filiotis up the coast to Mandria on a well used track.
Unwittingly we had by chance chosen the date when the Israelis were doing simulated attack runs! So rounding a corner we were stopped by an armed sentry, but allowed to proceed with our walk. As we proceeded towards Mandria, we walked through an exercise in progress. We saw at close quarters the simulation of attacks by Israeli attack aircraft. It was all a bit nerve wracking.So I hope the dates of this up scaled exercise will be given so any repeat can be avoided!!
