I have the same problem as Mike.1940.
Strong Irish or Scottish accents often spoil my viewing, a pity but there it is.

We watched it on Sunday evening when it aired and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The good thing is it's not on iPlayer to "binge watch".
And then another drama has just started up again "Unforgotten" so now we have more TV series to juggle during our evening viewing.
We don't watch TV in the daytime, only from around 7.30pm to about 10.30pm or for me, it's on in the background but I'm browsing on social media on my mobile until my gastric issues decide it may be an opportune time to try and settle down.

I once knew a bunch of builders from Glasgow. I understood all but one of them, and his friends had to translate for me. It was weird. We got on really well but I just couldn't understand a word he said.
Regarding the Irish accent, I went out with a girl from Cork for a number of years, so have no problem with that.
The French accent though, that's something special. I remember a Northern Irish girl I worked with, and I was going on a cycling holiday to France. I needed to book accommodation and she was fluent in French. She kindly phoned up to book it for me, and By God, when she had the conversation I needed a cold shower afterwards. We were friends already, but when I heard those French words rolling off her tongue I think my heart must have melted just a little bit.
