Is this the start of coronavirus taxes, in the UK.

Heathrow adds coronavirus tax to passenger tickets..
Heathrow Airport has added a new £8.90 (~$12.20) tax to all flight tickets from all airlines taking off at the largest UK airport..

It doesn't surprise we, someone has to pick up the tab, and as always, its the tax payer, happy days

Just read also that Gatwick are now charging £5 to drop off outside the terminal and the free drop off is a bus ride away.

At least these extra charges apply to the people actually using the facilities.

It isn't a tax. You are just paying for the enhanced measures that you have to have. Why shouldn't you?

Well said Dominic. It's simply to cover additional costs. It's only the press that have labelled it 'Coronovirus Tax'
