I need a new sofa and I’m struggling to get up and out of the very low sofas that seem to be popular here
Has anyone bought or know where I can find furniture which is higher?
Thanks

When it opens again, try Steptoes. Low sofas and chairs were the fashion in the UK but now UK manufacturers are making a much wider choice of styles and heights.

Evzonas have very nice furniture and they will also fit extensions to the feet to make the seat level higher.
I’m not sure if others do the same but worth asking if you’ve seen something you like.

IKEA sofas are go far better value and quality than those in a lot of the furniture shops in Paphos as I can testify having replaced some that were only 3 years old for our tenant last summer. They, mostly have removable machine washable covers, which can also be purchased separately for many style. They also state the height of the seat which might be useful for you as well. We plan to replace our own sofas this sometime year and there’s only one place I’ll be buying from.

Last year I was in a similar situation because I had a problem with my knees. My wife suggested we place wooden blocks under the legs of a chair to raise the height and this worked a treat. My knee problem is now resolved and the blocks have been removed. We told some friends about this and one of them has raised their sofa in a similar way and painted the blocks to match the sofa legs and another has raised their bed. This can be used as a temporary measure even until you can source higher sofa. Good luck.

We originally had sofas brought from a Paphos shop which were low and after several years we replaced them with ones from IKEA and the height is fine now just like we had when we lived in the UK. Added plus is you can take covers off and wash them whenever necessary so I would also recommend having a look at their website.

You can buy furniture risers in disabled shops. Good for sofas, chairs, beds etc...
