Hopefully it will improve the current situation, the government has a hard job trying to balance peoples health and earning a living.

Hopefully there will be a little more detail later in the day... I may have missed it but is it possible to go for a takeaway ?? And would a journey to Paphos for one be excessive..
Last time dog exercising was exempt, I hope it is this time.

I'm hoping dog walking won't count as one trip out. If it does they may be going shopping with me!

This lockdown isn't as strict as the first one, and we could get takeaways then. The statement mentioned restaurants, but not takeaways.
Regarding dog-walking, I heard (it may not be true) that dog walks local to your house won't require a text.

We will deal with whatever we have to. It's not so bad, the sun is shining and people are getting the vaccine, so there is light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train!

Well if you can understand what the government want us to do , your a better person than me....Can small retail outlets open?..Do you need to employ at least 8 people to comply with the 15% rule..I know it is early days , but they need to present the information as for dummies..

The curfew remains from 9.00 pm to 5.00 am.
The new measures will be in effect from 5am Sunday to January 31.
According to the minister, only two outings per day will be allowed with permission through SMS to 8998. People over 65 can use a printed form for leaving their home. Clarifications will be given soon.
No SMS is necessary for people who need to walk their dogs in a 500-metre radius from their homes, for the movement of handicapped people and people with autism and their escorts, and for taking children to and from kindergartens, day cares and special education centres.
Department stores, barbershops, hairdresser salons, beauty and tattoo parlours must suspend their operations.
The same applies for malls, theatres, cinemas, events halls, amphitheatres, food and beverage places, playgrounds, gyms, dance schools and other, similar schools will remain closed.
Businesses in the construction and processing sectors, food and beverage and other rand retail businesses can remain open. More information will be given about which businesses are concerned.

The site is Famagusta Public Network which is a new one to me so I can't say how reliable it is, but they do include the original Greek source

Thank you Ams..very useful to a point..I still cannot understand what happens to companies with up to 9 employees. Even more confusing they quote 15% and give the example of 10 employees...your can have 2 people = 20% or 200 employees...20 people = 10 %...or is it me , going potty!

2 trips out a day with sms, walking pets within 500 meters of residence, sms not required.
best to try an understand and know what requirements you need for yourself, not the whole shabang.

Thank you! I've since seen whole host of posts on FB etc outlining the new rules. It could have been worse I guess!

Probably I am the only one to get an SMS refusal this morning.. However it was my own fault for making an assumption, despite reading all the new rules.. My SMS was refused because (like last time) I entered my I D number.. Of course it should have been (as it says) my Passport number.
By the way on my trip to Paphos and back, I did expect to see some police at the roadside doing random checks... I never saw any at all..

We do not use passport number for the SMS as our ID number is accepted in the same way as it was during the last lockdown.

I have just found out by checking again that I missed one number off my ID. They did accept my passport though
