Bright and sunny here today on the north west Lancashire coast.... we're off to Blackpool for a bit of shopping and to try out the new gin palace in town: Hogarths :-)

At the new Gin palace, just a few steps off the seafront in Blackpool....

Followed by a late afternoon session at Ma Kelly's Station with a great group of guys called The Aim (Motown & Soul singers) then fish and chips at Yorkshire Fisheries before getting the bus home a little after 7pm.

Spontaneous days out are always the best :-D

Good morning photolady :D

Just wondering what your post re a Gin Palace (and photos) in Blackpool has to do with this thread? Yes, I know members go off topic but........ this is not about you but the weather in Cyprus!

Perhaps a new thread in Picture Gallery may I suggest? :D

You can suggest what you like Aphrodite, but you'll be wasting your breath as far as this lady is concerned!

Max all you do is post the image link and not the actual photo... It's very simple for those who are pc savvy (edited to add) and have images hosted elsewhere.

Shame about the other puerile people and trolls who are devoid of humour.

Exactly @Hudswell.... Some people have far too much time on their hands and obviously cannot cope if someone is having a good time elsewhere.

I certainly am and will continue posting my VERY LARGE PHOTOS as I see fit.

I thank all you delightful folk and hope your weather has improved today to boost your mood 😊

Which camera did you use to get such clear images at low light condition?

Hi Max,
First, I wanted to add something to my other post..... about posting the link to the image rather than physically attaching a photo. As long as your photos are hosted somewhere online such as Photobucket, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter etc you can simply copy the image link and then paste it in between the 2 IMG tags, using the Img facility (see just above where you write your post in the forum).

I mainly use Flickr for hosting mine and when I copy the link from there I choose the correct maximum size setting for the forum which is 1024px. As I mostly use an image watermark on my Flickr photos, the programme I use to create the watermark automatically resizes them to a max size of 1024px so that's a very simple task for me.

However, to answer your question about the camera I used today - these were taken using my mobile phone (Nokia Lumia 630 which is a 5 megapixel front facing camera only) and I posted them immediately from the gin bar to my FB account. I copied the image link from FB later on to share each one into my forum post.

Thanks Louise :-)
Me and my other half had a bit of a conflab about one of the photos though.... he wanted me only to post the one of him which was further away rather than one I had cropped closer up on the drinks bar in case his bum looked too big ;-)

Men, eh?

I can't believe this quality of a mobile, amazing. Always thought my Sony HX1 is quite good but as I see.... not as good. Thank you also for your tips. I always use photos from my photo album, and not hosted and I hate Twitter etc... Transferring them from picr, a German site.

You're very welcome, Max :-)

Yes, I have to admit I've been very happy with this mobile.... I got it from the Cyta shop when it was in My Mall, Limassol for €99. I've had it over 2yrs now and I'm very loathe to change it.

For the camera itself, it works pretty well for me but sometimes on the zoom the quality is not always as good and indoors if there are lots of lights (ie at a show or an event), it can cause blurring. So I mostly only use it for photos that are not so important to me.

I'm just disappointed. I like a drop of gin (Plymouth, if you are offering) and got all excited. Then I see it is in Blackpool of all places.

If it's the Plymouth Sloe Gin, you're in luck - but I can only get it as far south as Swansea ;-)

I used to live in Weybridge in Surrey where I had access to plenty of sloe berries. Inevitably I made a lot sloe gin :D . We had many a crazy night, drinking it like fruit juice and forgetting about the gin. We had many hangovers too, lethal stuff  , but lovely.

Wow, anywhere near Hangar Hill and the cricket ground?

Aphrodite, did you drink the Sloe gin with a mixer or just ice? We got a bottle of the Gordon's Sloe Gin at the start of the year.

I've tried mixing it with tonic and I don't particularly enjoy it - wondering if it needs something a bit lighter (lemonade perhaps) or something more fruity? That Rose Lemonade I had yesterday was gorgeous!

Quite near, Oatlands Drive or were you asking where I sourced the berries? ;)

Only ice usually but sometimes soda water just to make it less potent on 'work the next day' nights!

Thanks for that :-)

I did a bit of a Google earlier and some people recommend neat or with just one cube of ice, and others indicate lemonade as opposed to tonic....

So, I shall dig the bottle out again through the week and decide on my preference ;-)

We were in Sainsburys earlier today so I also managed to grab a bottle of the Fentimans Rose Lemonade as well.... Looks like I'm in for a few gin events!
