Twaddle, pure twaddle, unsubstantiated. Why do not you read the article before putting finger to keyboard?

Its very simple if the Budget isn't approved, which goes for any democratic country, then the Government has no spondoolies to pay for anything, usually resulting in a general election.

Despite rejecting the budget, parliament did green-light expenditures for the month of January – a contingency that allows the state to carry on functioning.
No apology necessary or forthcoming. The contingency for obtaining the vaccine (and other state functioning) is well in place. It is Anastasiades who has sounded a false alarm for which measures have been taken, according to the report. And for your information these contingencies continue month by month, until they are no longer necessary.

Not according to what I read, apparently the 'contingencies should only last for 2 months, ie the end of February.

I believe it to be the "Rule of Twelth's" in this scenario.
