Passports

I received a letter from the High Commission this morning relating to the end of the transition period.
It gives a list of things that have to be in place but the one that affects me is renewal of my passport which according to the new rules will have to be renewed 10 months before my current passports expiry date.
My last passport had to be renewed 4 months early due to it being full and the 4 months were added to my current passport, The extra months added will now be deducted when I apply for my new passport plus the EU requires all TCNs to have a minimum of 6 months validity on their passports.
This is to let people be aware of the rule they may not know about.

Hi Jim B, yes thanks for this. But there has been a lot of publicity about the validity of passports. I had to renew my old passport nine months before it was due to expire, for the same reason. The British High Commission has repeatedly warned us to make sure our passports remain valid. I renewed my passport last June.

For anyone resident in Cyprus and for those who own holiday properties here, should keep in touch with what the FCO and the BHC are telling us to do. Especially with the hiatus over Brexit negotiations which will affect expats in EU countries.
