Are the supermarkets still doing the 65 years of age up to 10am this week does anyone know.

The service remains exclusively for persons 65 years and older as well as persons with disabilities, from pharmacies and food retailers, from the time of their operation until 09.00 am.

Unfortunately. Lidl, Ellados Ave seem to have given up as far as regulating who can enter. For a few days there was a younger, slightly nervous looking Security? guy near the entrance, but he didn't seem able to stop younger people entering the store. Today, when I went at 08.45 there was no one there... and the store was busy. I didn't stay there long.

It must be quite tricky for them (security people) Dee. "Erm, excuse me Sir/Madam but, are you over 65?". . . . . . Could be quite insulting for someone who has had 'hard digs or just bad genes.'

We always call in Smart when we are down in Pafos and we turned up at 1pm they had an over 65 rule for 1 till 2, we didn't know this, my wife was asked if she was over 65 and she said no, so they turned her away. I am under that age also but with a mask to hide my youthful face I just pointed at my head and said bald and grey, they let me in with a laugh, I bet there was only half a dozeni n there at the time so not a good rule really especially at that time

I think that I will abandon Lidl for now, and shop at one of the other supermarkets where people seem to behave more sensibly...

Had a great shopping experience in the TOTK Lidl this afternoon - after reading many comments on various forums and FB groups I anticipated being harrassed by windscreen wiper sellers and inside people ignoring social distancing, lack of wearing face masks... Nothing of the sort - I was there approx 12.45-1.15pm and there was hardly anyone there, two cashiers with queues of 2-3 people in each. All very civilised.

Have noticed there is a bottleneck effect from about 9.45 am onwards at the supermarket I use when I am on the way out and find a queue of younger people waiting to enter the shop. However, some shops have already changed the time from 9 am when everyone has access so maybe a similar thing happens at 8.45 am now. Even during the lockdown I preferred to go to the supermarket in the afternoons as there were fewer people around then and also less shelf stockers than in the early morning hours.
