Water Tanks

Hi Everyone
Having just sealed our flat roof where our water tanks are I noticed that they have 'seen better days'.
The 2 tanks and solar panels are about 14 years old so with this in mind can anyone let me know the following:
- What's the average life expectancy?
- Average cost to replace (and recommendations)?
- Better to wait until they fail or replace in advance?
- Any other observations?!
Cheers
Darrell

In order to clarify which thermal solar system you are talking about, here a photo from a typical cheap Cypriot system... is it like yours?

The solar panels one can see at my photo are only 5 years old, not 14 years than yours, and started already leaking on the left hand side. So to your question: 14 year old cheap solar panels, open circuit, are already blocked with calcification and leaking, as well as the boiler. If it is a PVC water tank it should be OK.
Just phone Green Air Paphos, Mr. Andreas, for a quotation, Tel 26 941 555.

There is a company in Kissonerga that replaces these.
Just off the roundabout by the football stadium
Can't remember their name sorry, but can probably dig a little deeper ...

Thanks everyone...
Yep, like the photo above. The cold tank is the plastic type but looks tired, as does the piping etc.
It is a holiday home so I may wait...no point spending if we don't need to!

I personally hated it in the past, many years ago, when I used to come to Cyprus only for holidays, to find out that in my holidays I had to fix several problems which accumulated in my absence and instead to relax I had to sort things out....
What also happened to me was that I got a phone call from Cyprus that something on my roof is leaking... and water sitting a long time at a flat roof is not that funny!! So in the end I needed an extra trip for that...and I was glad I did before more damage appeared.
