Does anyone know of a company who will remove a large dish from the roof for free, and take it away?

Exactly what happened with us, guy driving around looking for scrap, got his ladder out lowered the dish on a rope and away, I got on the roof later and sealed the bolt holes. 8-)

Apologies for hijacking this thread but has anybody recently been able to get their satellite dish removed please? I know the scrap dealers do removals but is there anyone else? Mine is an old 2.7 metre dish. Thanks in advance.

We had a 2.7 metre dish at our previous house here, a passing scrap dealer was happy to remove it- with no charge They usually drive a small truck type vehicle which will accommodate such items.

Better to get someone like John who is used to doing this. If it’s on a roof, they need to bring them down carefully - usually with straps. I’ve seen a few very badly cut leaving a problem on the roof and scrapes all down the side of the building!
