Bad results, but worth noting that it was from almost 5,000 tests.

Yep, I'm just starting to get my head around this malarky

. . . . . . It's all about the sheer amount of testing that is giving us the more realistic results!!! Well, I think so??

If you divide the number of positives by the number of tests each day you will find that the positived per thousand tests has rocketed up.
Obviously a lot of tests are from contact tracing so you would expect a higher than average positive at the moment. I believe that they woudl be satisfied with 5 per thousand and on Saturday it was 40.6 so that tells its own story.

Track and trace means the cases per 1000 will always go up, as you are actively seeking out contacts who will be more likely to be infected.
It would be interesting to test 1000 people at random, to get a more accurate figure of how prevalent the virus is. However, given how hard pushed the testing teams are at the moment, I think their resources are better prioritised with track and trace.
Bottom line is, if we all concentrate on our own social distancing, we won't get infected. So if you go into a shop that is too crowded, or people aren't wearing masks, just leave it and go elsewhere. Don't sit through it and moan about it later on social media. That will achieve nothing, and expose you to greater risk.

Trump famously said if they didn’t test, they wouldn’t have cases!
The UK is estimated to have had around 8% of it’s population who have had Covid19 - much more than who tested positive, but far away from “her immunity”
Cyprus, I’d imagine, would be even less.
