62 new cases today...

Bit of a spike in figures today. They haven't yet fully examined each positive case, but over half of the 40 odd they have done were down to track and trace.
I won't do a news article because I don't trust the autotranslate. It's ok for when it is about country categories, but medical information tends to get mistranslated.

I know you don't normally use Cyprus Mail for your source, but CM does report in English, so no dubious google translation required.

Conflicting numbers for Tuesday, with 81 also being mentioned. That’s why most now report a 7-day average as the number to watch

There is no conflict. Another 20 odd results were added late in the day, after the initial figures had been published.
I would have done a CM news report, but they hadn't published one when I made my post. We regularly use them, along with In-Cyprus.

My dentist who I saw yesterday had an interesting theory. They thought that a few 'extra numbers' have been added to the daily total of corona cases as a result of the current adverse political scandal about certain members of the house being involved with the 'cash for passports' affair. Why? Because they want to divert public opinion back to the virus and away from their nefarious dealings as exposed by Al-Jazeera.
An interesting theory, whether any basis of truth to this - time will tell.

Just seen this on 'In Cyprus'. They say that the team is still busy contact tracing so expect more details about today's 93 cases later.
Very worrying.
