No it isn't available here - I had shingles early last year quite badly in my head and eye so was advised to have the vaccine if possible, I tried through both my pharmacy and the Iasis to get it but couldn't, I even tried a pharmacy and clinic in the north but it's not available there either. I found a private clinic in Manchester to get one when I was in the UK last December but as it is a "live" vaccine they wouldn't do it until at least 12 months after I'd had shingles because my immune system would not be able to cope with it. As yet I have not managed to get back since, but will certainly try to get it on my next visit - it's £185 but if it stops me getting shingles like I had last year again it's worth every penny!

If by some chance things have changed and someone does know where it can be obtained in Cyprus please post!

Here is what we think we know. Appreciate other views:
There is more than 1 kind of Shingles vaccine. Best is Shingrix by GSK, as it is the most effective. A few months ago we rang GSK Cyprus who told us it is not available here yet. "Maybe next year " they said. You need 2 shots, administered a few months apart, I recall.

We were in London at the time and so tried to get another kind of Shingles vaccine. GP would not do it, nor would our local chemists. Don't know why they did not offer this service. Don't know if you can get it here. Decided to wait till early 2021 and ring GSK again. Shingles is horrible so will try to get a vaccine of some kind next year

There's quite a bit of information on the 'net' about the shingles vaccine. The original vaccine was live, but they have now introduced a inactivated vaccine in the US (2017). Most of the people that I know who have had the vaccine are in the US.
