May I suggest that people watch the BBC program Extinction The Facts

It was shown last night (Sunday) on BBC1 at UK 8pm and is on BBCiPlayer for the next 12 months.

Very thought provoking and depressing at the same time.

David Attenborough said that it's down to all of us to stop the destruction of the bio diversity. I can see where I, as an individual, can make a small difference, but as I saw it, it's the greedy wealthy corporations that MUST change their ways, combined with a political will on behalf of governments. What chance is there of the latter?

Government are at fault, It is they who pass laws. Also, we need to provide countries in places like Africa and South America, financial support NOT to destroy natural habitats.

Brazil is destroying vast areas of the Amazon every day. We need to persuade them to stop. Someone compared it with being on a spaceship and the engine room is on fire. Do we ignore it?

I made a point of watching it but I was disappointed. There was too much repetition of old stuff that has been put forward time and time again and very little radical new information. Of course, new information on environmental matters comes in dribs and drabs. In the middle and at the end, I felt there was too much time spent on the mountain gorillas in Rwanda; a one hour programme could have been more diverse in its subjects.

Notwithstanding, every little helps in trying to get people and peoples to understand that this is a human-made crisis and the only solution can also be human-made. It is up to us, folks!
