Costas Tyres on the Polis Road. Almost opposite Sports Direct.

There's a place in Geroskipou opposite Leon's bar and near to Andys the London barber. Very reasonable and has a large selection of tyres I have used him many times for various cars

Hi Lincoln,
I like others always go to Costas and have done for years, but he has recently moved further away. I am interested in the place that you use as it seems to offer very good service.
Please could you give me the name, location and contact details for it?
Thanks.
Dee

It certainly does no harm to get a price from other tyre retailers, and I have done this before.
I even found a place cheaper and got two tyres replaced there.. On my way home could hear a strange noise on cornering.. I took my car to a garage and he showed me that on full lock the tyres were catching the car bodywork..
I did get the tyre depot to put the correct size on, but of course I will never go there again..
Cheapest is not always best..

All those who use Costa will know that he also does Free Puncture repairs... And not the 'push a rubber bung in, but a proper repair

Lincoln wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:27 am I find it most odd, that most people recommend COSTAS TYRES. When we went to get all our tyres changed, five of them. We like most went to costa, told him the brand we wanted and got a price. We then went to three more tyre places and did the same. The last one beat them all and included wheel alignment and balancing. Also told us to come back after 5.000 K's to have the wheels swapped around. So it is always worth getting quotes. :D
The thing is there are different grades of tyres, ie Michelin, manufacture their tyres in over fifteen different country's. you might think your getting the same Tyre quoted but they are made, for different countries some inferior, usually there's always a reason why somewhere is cheaper.

Just did a quick search on google, there was a question about Michelin tyres sold at Costco, and this is the reply

The short answer is no. Almost all tire manufacturers grade their tires at production. Their grade A tires always go to their stores first. The grade C tires are usually sold to the car manufacturers because they want the lowest price. And all they're interested in is getting tires on the vehicle through the warranty period. And a mix of the B and C tires are sold to tire distributors or tire vendors, such as Wal-Mart, Costco and others.

Yes as Trev says, free puncture repair, he also for me has swapped the wheels around on several occasions, replaced a faulty valve, and balancing all for free. Wheel alignment he does charge for though.
I have only ever used one other tyre place and he tried to rip me off telling me that the rear tyres have to match, that isnt so as only the fronts do, he even made out that the tyre that I was going to use as my full size spare was too big for the location under the boot and that I needed to change that also, I managed to push it in no trouble that made him look stupid.
On the question of expensive compered to cheap, my car had the original Bridgestones on when I bought it, they didnt stick very well on roundabouts bends etc, they must have been the grade C, when I replaced them I got the cheapest at the time Linglong they were far better than the Bridgestone for grip and I have had 2 sets of those since then getting about 24k miles out of each set on a CRV.

You can now get tyres at the Polemi MOT Centre. I got my last set for the Pajero there and it was 10% cheaper than Costa's for a better tyre.

I've found that whether you go for a quality make or a cheap make they only last around16-20k miles...
But I live up in the hills where the roads are twisty and of course the heat plays it's part....

https://www.bktyres.co.uk/can-change-ju ... tyre-time/

I was advised to change both my rear tyres on the BMW when I had one with cracked walls due to sun light and under inflation. My friend was advised to replace on his Mercedes all 4 this was due to the car having sensors and if tread is different by 2 mm can give error readings. I had the same problem when I had run flats i replaced with with standard tyres and problem solved no more spurious warnings on the onboard computer.

Many thanks, Lincoln. I know just where it is now. Incidentally, do they also fix punctures like Costas does if you're one of his customers and are unlucky to pick up a nail?
