Research seen by the UKs biggest selling newspaper shows that out of 364 comedy slots broadcast by the BBC over the past month only 4 featured comedians with explicit conservative or pro brexit views.By contrast 268 slots where filled by comedians with publicly pronounced left leaning or woke views. And someone wrote on this posting that the BBC where..........impartial
Total non sequitur: the BBC is not responsible for what comedians say.

In any case, there is nothing funny to say about "conservative or pro-Brexit views". In any case, the said newspaper itself is the most jaundiced of the lot and has been banned from having quotes on a number of websites.

The simple truth is that there are more left-wing than right-wing comedians out there.

If you went back to the last Labour government, there would have been more right-wing voices.

This is because a lot of comedians tend to poke fun at whoever is in power. But it is also because it is comedically easier to make fun of somebody who is right wing. Proportionally, more people on the left than right will be poor. Taking the piss out of poor people is a lot more likely to backfire - just because it is nasty - than taking the piss out of richer people.

Biggest hypocrite on the planet has to be Frankie Boyle though. For a man who made a career out of mocking the disabled to have a go at anybody else for mocking anybody is just about the worst example of double-think that you will come across.

And tonight, the BBC are broadcasting the great New Year concert from Vienna. Oops, sorry, I forgot the Austrians are right wing. :-)

Seriously, this concert is worth the watch with lots of light classical music, including Strauss, Lehar et cetera. It is usually accompanied by a little travelogue of the castles along the Danube.
