I have hundreds of smoothed head bumps over my body (assume prickly heat). I've had them before but never this bad or for so long. I have already used two tubes of Finistel but it doesn't seem man enough for the job. Can anyone recommend an alternative! TIA

I would think the best advice would be to go to the doctors.

Presuming that you do not have hundreds of heads, it sounds like a job for a specialist in allergies. If you are on the GESY system, your GP should arrange a meeting with a specialist. IMHO, better to try and find the cause and avoid it than to try and treat it topically. Do you know the species that is causing the problem? Although unlikely, have you thought of scabies, although that is more common on the legs after having walked through long vegetation.

I agree about seeing a dermatologist, and I was told to see one by my GP.. But as mentioned above, some have more than a 4 week waiting list..

I am seeing the one on the same road as Evangolismos. Further down same side. Been booked abiut 3 weeks, and not able to see him until next month. The general you can book on the day, Dr Maria I rang him myself, just say you want it on GESY. .You will need to look up Gesy dermotologist since I can't remember his name, but I think its Yiannis.

Yiannis is the one I have seen and had to wait three or four weeks to see him. After visiting him I am now booked in for a minor op at the beginning of August.. Like many doctors he is away on holiday for some weeks in August as well

Have you tried antihistamine tablets? Could it be something you are brushing past in the garden or during a walk?
There are certain plants in our garden that give me an allergic reaction with barely a touch. At the moment, the pollen from the olive tree where it falls onto the arms of the patio chairs as they're stored next to the tree has caught me off guard this summer.
We've had the tree for 3 years now but there's loads of pollen on it, more than previously and I itch like mad from just a tiny amount.

There's a wait for Gesy doctors, but a private one will see you right away, fifty euro for a consultation is no brainer if its causing you discomfort.

Might be worth calling in a pharnacy while you are waiting an appointment I got hives last year and antihistamines cleared them up.

If it looks like that photo, than it is better to go quick to the next pharmacy to get a cream for that. I had it several times when working under pine trees where one can see the white nests of the pine processionary moth.

The quicker you seek medical advice the better, not necessarily a Dermatologist - my first priority would be to see my Personal Doctor today.

In case a Beneficiary visits directly an Outpatient Specialist, without a referral from their Personal Doctor, the Personal Contribution I will be paid as set out below:

Very right WHL..When i am in the US i usually watch a programme about a leading coroner. She explains how important it is to see your doctor sooner rather than later..I remember one episode she was cutting up this guy and after about ten minutes she turned to the camera and said........"if this man had seen his doctor when he first had symptoms he would not be seeing me now "

I somehow have a slight doubt, just very slight, that he was not really over bothered looking at a forensic scientist with a whacking great scalpel in her hand. :-) :-) :-)

Hi, I had the very same thing 2 years ago. After trying everything and searching the internet I found the solution. Dettol soap, CLassic version in a green box. It had worked for all these people on the Internet so I gave it a try. You need to wet your hands thoroughly and get a huge lather from the bar of soap, then rub this intensively into the affected areas, almost like a surgeons scrub. Rinse and pat dry. I repeated hourly at first and found relief from the beginning. Don't use creamy shower gels, use Dettol or just the bar of soap. Don't moisturise , keep the pores clean and open. I do hope it works for you - it's certainly worth a try and so cheap. I still only use Dettol soap and shower gel and am always free of prickly heat.

According to the Covid19 App operated by Imperial and used by 4million people to report symptoms etc, there is a new symptom that resembles prickly heat and should be checked out.
