I have not known them close in the past. But the Staff do have to have holidays so there may be less people to serve you

I think you mean Citizens Service Centres. Citizens Advice is a UK charity.

No, I think that they are open. I was there last week picking up my driving licence.
But, they are still operating with telephone made appointments. You can't just walk in.Ring them first.

They will be closed 15 Aug (never remember the name of the day except in my pidgin German, Maria Himmelfahrt- long story!) and the country almost closes down for 2 weeks after that so be prepared for closures until 1 September (sometimes 1 week earlier, too). For the next 4 weeks, generally open.

We have been at the Post Office two weeks ago. We have had to make an appointment by phone in advance. Good thing is you don't have to wait at all. Phone No. was 8000 2000. I hope the procedure is still the same.

Wow.. That is a long time. You used to be able to go in an afternoon, get a ticket, and be seen within around half an hour

I phoned the main office on Mon and was given an appointment for the following Monday.
I suspect the delay between phone call and appointment depends on what service you want, whether motor vehicle, health or whatever.

Thanks to all who replied. Seems like at least a week, which is a long time when you could just walk in.

Yes. I arrived a few minutes earlier to find others standing on the pavement outside the offices in Butcher Boy Rd. There were 3people ahead of me. About 20 mins later, I was ushered inside. I wanted to pick up my new license, ordered on my previous visit. That part was efficiently handled as usual and I wasn't there long.
