You shouldn't paint leather surely? Leather can be dyed. But if the leather is already a darker shade and you want to lighten it, probably better to seek professional advice.

Leather furniture can be painted
but needs alot of prep work,
without doing all the necessary prepping
it will look terrible, many you tube videos out
there.

The kit I acquired through eBay had full instructions and you could colour match the existing......
