Is this false / fake news? According to flight stats, the easyjet flight 8967 from Gatwick to Larnaca was on time and had no problems, apart 21 mins late, 10:26 PM - Fri Mar-31-2017

The article doesn't appear to be an April Fools' or fake (and if it were it would be in poor taste) - this indeed did happen
according to passengers on the plane. Whilst it's not been widely picked up by the news there are a couple of outlets reporting it.
