From what I read a while ago there was a stabbing incident at a Hotel housing asylum seekers, and a policeman was taken to hospital.

This horrible "incident" must obviously be treated as strenuously as possible, so that justice is done and seems to be done.

Other than the actual events, I question the use of the word "incident" for almost anything where the police get involved. It is a word full of meaning but I do not believe that it can be applied to anything as horrible as this, despite the second definition below. For me, it seems to make the affair a wee bitty banal.

Comb.: name="1"incident room a centre set up by the police (freq. near the scene of the occurrence) to coordinate operations connected with a particular crime, accident, etc.

When you don't know the full facts, it is better to use fairly innocuous language like "incident" rather than specific language that implies motive etc.

Not terrorist. Apparently a disagreement between asylum seekers, being housed in a hotel, as other accommodation not available...

Its the sort of violence which parts of Cyprus
are being subjected to by violent recently arrived so called asylum seekers/ illegal immigrants A village close to Paphos now has its own temporary Police station in an attempt to mitigate the problems being caused to inhabitants in this village.
Pity trouble makers can't be quickly deported.
